In “Underneath The Lintel,” a Dutch librarian, receiving a book 123 years overdue, sets off on a global quest to find the violator and recoup the fine. He is diverted to hunting down the owner of an abandoned pair of trousers and ultimately to searching for the historical (and presumably still-living) Wandering Jew of Christian myth. In so doing, the librarian experiences life in the world outside his hometown of Hoofddorp for the first time.

Playwright Glen Berger’s work  has won the Ovation Award twice, for “Underneath The Lintel” and “Great Men of Science, Nos. 21 and 22.” “Great Men” also won an L.A. Weekly Award, while Berger’s “The Wooden Breeks” received an L.A. Weekly Award nomination. “Underneath The Lintel” ran for over 450 performances off-Broadway and was included in Time Out New York’s Ten Best Plays of 2001.

Director Eric Werner has previously been a director for “Fast N’ Loose” and “Naked Holidays: at Sacred Fools Theater, and has also written and directed plays in New York.

Actor Brandon Clark has previously appeared at Sacred Fools in “Tabloid Frenzy,” “Frankenstein In Love,” “Naked Holidays 2003,” and “Fast N’ Loose,’ and co-directed the recent “Slow & Tight.” He has toured with his own sketch/improv group, The Future Hasbeens. Recent television appearances include “Will and Grace,” “24,” and “King of Queens.”
